FAQ

Common questions.

Is Atlas Lite really free?
Yes. Atlas Lite is a free home for every digitised file, with the Library and your folder structure preserved. You also get 3 free AI indexes to spend on any videos or photo folders you choose. After that, indexing more is £4.99 per item (£7.99 with AI enhancement), or you can move to Atlas Archive for unlimited indexing.
What does “indexing” actually do?
Indexing is the smart, AI-powered cataloguing tool at the heart of Atlas — it's what turns a plain cloud album into an archive that understands itself. When you index a video or photo folder, Atlas reads what's inside: it sorts the footage into clips, recognises faces and places, writes a short description of each moment, and helps you build timelines and note down everything you can remember. This analysis — including face detection — is carried out by Google's Gemini AI; see our AI Addendum. Un-indexed files still play and download at original quality — indexing is simply the tool that makes them searchable, organised and intelligent. Index the files you choose on Atlas Lite, or let Atlas Archive index everything for you.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Atlas Lite is free, so there is nothing to cancel. Atlas Archive can be cancelled from your account in two clicks; your archive stays accessible for the rest of the billing period, after which it is archived (we keep the files but pause the features) for 90 days before deletion.
Do you ever delete my media?
Never without warning. If you cancel and do not reactivate within 90 days, we contact you twice before any deletion. You can always download your original files.
Where is my archive stored?
Your files are stored and backed up in the UK, on UK-owned infrastructure. When you index a file, Atlas uses Google's Gemini AI to help read and catalogue what's inside, so that step is processed on Google's secure cloud. We only send what's needed to index, we never sell your archive, and nothing is made public unless you choose to share it.
Do you train AI on my media?
We don't train our own AI on your media, and we never sell it or make it public. Indexing is carried out by Google's Gemini AI, which analyses your files to catalogue them; we use it under Google's business terms rather than the consumer service. See our AI addendum for the precise detail of how your media is handled.

Ready when you are.

If your tapes have been digitised, your archive is already waiting.
